Twitter Analytics options for Twitter Users

TweetMeme is a great service which provides a Retweet button for all blogs apart from providing aggregation of popular links on Twitter. We can easily know which stories are trending popular on Twitter through this site. It also has a RSS subscription service to follow regularly the most popular categories through RSS or Twitter accounts. It offers Twitter Analytics service which has features such as Click-Through data, Retweet data, visibility, Referring domains and so on. When I have seen these features, I too got interested to see how much does this service cost. To my surprise, It starts from $50 a month and not sure what are the other pricing plans they have and how it works. To us, Even a $50 per month looks quite expensive though it’d be a great option to have in order to analyze how my tweets are trending on Twitter.

For a small business, paying a $50 a month which equates to $600 per year per domain is a huge money considering the fact that generic web analytics from providers like Google are available free. However, Google Analytics doesn’t provide Twitter Analytics. So, What would be our best alternatives when we want some sort of analytics for our tweets. I identified a best alternative called, GetClicky which I’m already using it but didn’t realize they do have this option before.

In Getclicky, You can set up a Twitter search query and monitor the tweets as to who has retweeted the tweet, positive tone, negative tone so on. Apart from this, It also gives you the option to retweet from the analytics screen itself. Another best feature in Getclicky is to track the Twitter URL shortener to see who has clicked the link, Incoming and Outgoing domains, location, number of clicks for the URL so on. However the limitation in this case is we have to use their in-built URL shortener for our tweets. Good news is URL shortener is a free service. When it comes to price, it is a $59.99 per year which is quite affordable for small businesses. For this $59.99, We get to track 3 sites with all other web analytics features that includes this Twitter Analytics as well. In fact they do have some free plans for general web analytics and not sure if they offer Twitter Analytics under this free plan.

Though Analytics with TweetMeme might be more advanced and best tuned to Twitter Analytics, yet, I guess they have to re think about their pricing plans if they want to get a big population base. I’ve to admit this is just my personal opinion and others need not agree to it as well as that I’m currently a subscriber to GetClicky as well.

If we would want to compare GetClicky with other web Analytics in terms of features, here is a link to see how they fare better than others.

If anyone has a better differentiating thoughts on TweetMeme Analytics service, Please do share with us here in comments.
